The folks at Truth Applied wrote an article about this which was part of a four week study. I would encourage you to read it as it goes into far more detail that I will here. They broke it down into:
First Love
First Serve
First Forgive
First Pray
The scripture I chose, Matthew 22:37, centers on the concept of Love. This form of love is not simply a feeling but a conscious choice and a deep commitment. It raises an important question: Who should be the primary focus of our love? The answer is clear; our love should be directed toward the Lord, our God. The term “Lord” signifies our Master, while “God” refers to our most sacred Creator, the one who brought everything into existence.
Giving our all to Him means fully dedicating ourselves. This involves our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It is not enough to love in words alone; our commitment must reflect in our daily lives and our actions. When we engage with the Word of God through study and reflection, we deepen our understanding and strengthen our ability to serve Him.
By focusing our minds on His teachings, we align our thoughts and intentions with His will. This connection paves the way for a more profound relationship with God. It empowers us to express our love not just in prayer but in how we treat others and navigate the world. Loving God with our entire being transforms our lives. It roots us firmly in faith and guides us through life’s challenges. When we prioritize our love for God, we cultivate a sense of purpose and fulfillment that extends beyond ourselves.I am not professionally trained in the study of God's Word. I am just a gal who wants to learn more so I seek out resources and use the YouVersion Bible app to guide me in studying and learning about the Word of God. I use this blog to help further our understanding of God's Word and how it can be applied to our daily lives. God loves us and he wants us to extend that love to others.
