Being True to Yourself and Pleasing God

This blog focuses on discussing challenging topics or situations that many people face. I want to set clearer and more specific goals for the year 2025. So far, I have begun outlining my ideas and strategies to achieve these objectives. I aim to tackle various subject matters that resonate with my audience and offer insights that can help them navigate their own challenges. As I continue this journey, I will refine my goals to ensure they are realistic and impactful. My plan is to share my progress and encourage my readers to think about their own aspirations as well.

I need to establish boundaries which I wrote about in this post. I am still trying to figure out what the boundaries need to be.

For the last year, I've had regular occurring conflicts on Sundays.  I prayed a lot, asking for God's guidance to choose between the two. I finally came to a decision.  I expect that I have disappointed people but I aim to please God not people. I wrote about sharing scripture and people pleasing in this post.  I feel at peace with the decision that I made and felt a heavy weight lifted when I released myself from the conflict.

I started writing a book in late 2024 and I am finalizing it. I talked with someone at the Plain City Writing group about my book and my publishing plans to get some feedback and direction.  I continue to pray about if and when I move forward with publication.

I have one fitness goal so far and that is to work on box jumps. This is a carryover from 2024 as I did not work on it until late in the year.  While I've been able to do box jumps with a 6 inch box during open gym with no one or limited persons around, I freeze when I think about doing them in a class setting.  I have talked with friends about this and it is a mental block that I need to work through.  Once we get into our program focuses for 2025, I believe I will be able to establish more fitness goals.

Most of all, I want to be honest when it comes to my goals.  In an article by Desiring God - Be True to Yourself, there is a theme about honesty. I've linked to the article should you wish to read it.  We need to humble ourselves and let God's will work on our lives.

"1 Peter 5:6 (ESV): 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you"

Trusting God to guide your actions and decisions can lead you to achieve your true goals. When you allow His work in and through you, your aspirations align with His purpose. This alignment brings peace and fulfillment, knowing you are on the right path. Remember, your journey is not just about reaching goals; it's about growing in faith. Embrace this collaboration with God and watch how your life transforms. Take a moment to reflect on your goals. Are they in line with His will?
